Scott Latham

I am fascinated by human relationships and how we can ‘work’ to make them more truthful and real to ourselves. My passion and deep experience is to build better outcomes for individuals, teams, departments, and organisations as they chase their business and personal goals.

I have been fortunate and honoured to work across multiple industries including, Defence, the Services Industry, Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail and many more both nationally and internationally.

With a wealth of Industrial Relations experience, I bring an innovative and flexible approach to guide my work; designing and delivering IR Solutions that address relationships, team culture, performance, leadership and team design to realise compliant outcomes with business gains.

My deep expertise in HR, coupled with a range of accredited people diagnostic tools, ensures I'm ready to analyse, design and help implement people centered improvement with real outcomes across the full employee lifecycle.

I’ve worked in Statewide Independent Wholesalers (SIW), Fonterra and Caterpillar Australia South East Asia with HR responsibilities across multiple countries and facilities and ‘headed up’ Manpower Professional in the Middle East.

Important papers on the wall include a BSc, Grad Dip of HR, Master of International Relations/Business and a Graduate Certificate AICD. I’m a volunteer Board Member of the Ulverstone Surf Life Saving Club and the Cradle Coast Triathlon and Multisport Club.

The two most important things to know about me are that I am innately and endlessly curious about people and that I’m passionate about ensuring that people are happy at work. A happy employee is one who feels valued and safe.

The feeling of being valued comes from an inclusive and constructive culture that engenders belonging to a cohesive team. The feeling of safety is found in role clarity and purpose and structure.

My superpower is understanding how to bring these two things together.

I utilise this approach to build meaningful people frameworks that begin with the basic foundation of policy, process, job design, position descriptions, employment contracts and competency frameworks. Once these are established we can construct a cohesive people strategy including performance management and coaching frameworks, leadership development and mentoring programs and strategic workforce planning.

I have an extensive background in management consulting and project management. These skills ensure that I can successfully create and lead large scale whole of organisation people initiatives.

I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of partnering with clients to achieve success through innovative, collaborative and bespoke solutions.
